Dr. Shepherd started Her Viewpoint in February 2013 as an outreach venture because she noticed that women’s health issues are not discussed enough, even though open conversations on women’s health matters are important for empowering women and affecting their health. Women’s health spans physical, emotional and spiritual realms, and all of these topics are addressed on Her Viewpoint. Her Viewpoint gives women a platform to voice their concerns and enables Dr. Shepherd to address more women and showcase awareness on women’s health.
“In medical school, I became fascinated by obstetrics, as I learned about how I could reach and support a woman throughout her entire lifespan–from adolescence to labor and delivery to menopause. I realized I could be there for her during all of the important stages of her life, so I chose to pursue obstetrics and gynecology.” Dr. Shepherd states, “I am passionate about treating conditions that commonly affect women’s health, such as fibroids or endometriosis, so I can positively impact women and play a part in enabling them to lead better lives overall.”
“As a physician, I have met so many different people from all walks of life. As a surgeon, I am privileged and honored to have patients trust me with their body as I join them on this journey to heal and feel better...My patient care philosophy is to treat patients as I would want to be treated, or as I would want a close family member or best friend to be treated. I love helping patients reach the best that they can be so they can feel that they’re at their best and able to live their best life– it’s extremely rewarding.” In her free time, Dr. Shepherd enjoys traveling, spending time with her husband and kids, exploring new restaurants to try new foods and cuisines, and working out.
Dr. Shepherd states, “The Rowe Network is based on a solid foundation, started and formed by physicians who are passionate about serving patients with flexibility and accessibility. The Rowe Network recognizes how important it is for us to reach as many patients as possible, which can be maximized without limitations imposed by face-to-face patient visits.”
Dr. Shepherd is able to treat the following health issues virtually via The Rowe Network:
