Kathleen E. Sharp, M.D.
Dr. Sharp is a board-certified physician in Family Medicine with added expertise in Sports Medicine who grew up all over the United States. She settled in Michigan where she earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit and completed her residency training at Bon Secours Health and Hospital System in Grosse Pointe. She stayed in Michigan to complete a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Upon completing her Fellowship in Sports Medicine, Dr. Sharp joined a group practice in rural East Texas. During this time she served as Chief of Staff and Emergency Director at Linden Municipal Hospital. She also served as team physician to the sports teams in the Linden-Kildare Independent School District. After serving the communities of Hughes Springs, Jefferson and Linden for five years, Dr. Sharp moved to Dallas where she served as Medical Director of an urgent care facility. Dr. Sharp is a physician with the Dallas County Hospital District Homeless Outreach Department. She also serves her country as a physician in the Texas Army National Guard.
Dr. Sharp is fascinated with the human body and loves to engage and educate others about how their body works. She speaks to churches, schools and professional organizations about nutrition, physical activity and proper rest. Dr. Sharp has traveled abroad with Exercise is Medicine, to learn ways to increase physical activity in our youth. With telemedicine, Dr. Sharp foresees a future where everyone has access to physicians who promote preventative health and wellness worldwide.
Dr. Sharp is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. She is a member of the American Telemedicine Association, American College of Sports Medicine and American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Sharp has two sets of twins. She loves supporting her kids in their sports and musical endeavors.
